How To Tell Which Windows I Have

no...information technology doesn't... I had windows 10 for a long time, turned it on and said the kick files were missing. ran the recovery media.....and now I accept a big watermark on my screen that says to actuate windows. I called support and they told me I had to buy a new one....and so the entitlement matter is BS

I'grand seeing reports that retail boxed versions are reporting equally activated with Digital License after five.1607. Have you seen this withal?

Distressing simply no I haven't. One Vista laptop I clean installed Windows 10 on a while back although ordered from the MS Store shortly after the AV edition (version 1607) was released came with version 1511. I did however burn a DVD with version 1607 and used it to perform the clean install. Sorry to say I did not look at the type of activation.

I've heard in diverse places that there is a 'limit' to how many hardware configurations y'all can register your copy of Windows 10 with, ex: Someone upgrades their video bill of fare and they have to rebuy windows because the configuration is new and counts equally a 'new' system. I've got a New copy of Windows 10 Abode, never used. I've still got my one-time computer but volition soon exist edifice an entirely new rig, save the difficult drive which will transplant over. How many registrations does Windows x Home (box edition with USB) come up with? I tin't notice an official reply to this in the packet or online, but I've read plenty people lament about losing their Windows registration to hardware upgrades to know it's truthful.

I've discovered I accept a windows 10 retail license, so it appears I am able to transfer my electric current licence to a newly built pc. Apparently just de-registering the electric current pc is required before but installing windows 10 pro on my new pc so skipping all the central requests during install and simply logging into my microsoft business relationship on the new pc should transfer it beyond.

Will report back if/when I get my new pc congenital up. :)
